The Upper Elco School was located in the northern section of Alexander County near the Union-Alexander County line.

It closed in the early 1960s when it consolidated with the Elco School and later the students all went to Tamms Grade School.

Sue Poole Goodwin and her brother, Gene Poole, provided the names of the two teachers.

Mrs. Ida S. Ury. Mrs. Ury came about 1942 and stayed until after they consolidated with Elco School in the 1960s.
