Colonel Charles C. Farmer - Son of Charles C. and Esther K. Farmer, born at Mt. Carroll Il. January 9, 1874.
Entered West Point Military Academy and upon graduation served in Cuba and the Phillipines.
Served in France as Chief of Staff to General Sample, Commanding Officer of Advance Station S.O.S. with headquarters at Neufeliateau (Vonges).
Colonel Farmer is the highest ranking officer from Carroll County.
At present is Commanding Officer of the 12th Calvary at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu Hawaii.
