Badger Springs is located on the North side of Highway 72, on the east edge of Shannon, Section 18 Shannon Township. From the 1993 plat book it looks like 2.7 acres.

The legal description would be T-25-N-R-7-E; Sec 18 SW1/4.

According to the Goodly Heritage..
Badger Springs was at the East Edge of Shannon, on page 105 it says that James Alexander settled west of Badger SPrings which got its name from a large badger killed by H.M. Hitt, Nathaniel Swingley, John Wagner and David Mumma while eating lunch by the spring on their way to Ogle County. Then on Pg 106 it continues -- The water from Badger Springs which flows just east of Stanton Street in the Village of Shannon has been impounded for a swimming and recreational area.. This and "Big Springs" both are sources of Lost Creek which drains northeasterly into Yellow Creek and the Pecatonica River...
