Merry Christmas 1929-1930

Henry Scharman was a successful Undertaker and Furniture dealer in Shannon for many years. Henry was born in Germany about 1858. Its uncertain just when he first came to Carroll County. His marriage to Adelaide Peters, daughter of Conrad & Katherine (Rister) Peters, occurred in Whiteside County on the 29th of July 1889. They were blessed with two children - Verna born in 1890 and Ralph coming along in 1899. Both Henry & Adelaide died in 1937 and are buried side by side in the Brethren Cemetery in Shannon. Their son Ralph & daughter-in-law are also buried in this plot. Their daughter Verna married Benjamin Harison Barnes 05 October 1910 in Whiteside County.
