Thomson Depot, Thomson IL Contributed by Jean Lavin
The Thomson Burlington Depot, located on Main Street, was built in the late 1800's shortly after the
completion of the Burlington tracks between Fulton and Savanna in 1886. Today it is
the Thomson Depot Museum
containing memorabilia spanning more than 100 years! The
depot is exactly the way it was a hundred years ago. Thomson being the "Melon Capital"
of Northwestern IL used this railway line to transport their Melons.
