
A REAL DOCTOR'S DAY
Three country physicians will be honored at "Doctor's Day"
ceremonies to be held at Shimer College in Mt. Carroll.
The Physicians are Dr. Rollin B. Rice, 85; Dr. Samuel B. Colehour, 77, and Dr.
G.E. Mershon, 76 all of Mt. Carroll.
Former patients and other residents will be on hand to pay tribute to the three men
who have contributed a total of 167 years of service to Mt. Carroll and surrounding counties.
An Illinois State Medicao Society spokesman estimated the three Doctors have delivered a
total of 10,000 babies, all of whom have been invited to this Sunday's celebration.
Dr. Rice was born in Bristol, Wis., and practiced three years in Wheeling, Ill., before coming to
Mt. Carroll. He retired in 194. Dr. Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll and practiced here until his
retirement last year. Dr. Mershon still is practicing in Mt. Carroll
