I, Asa Church of the County of Carroll, State of Illinois do hereby make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form and following to wit.
First it is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second, after the payment of such funeral expenses and debts, I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Lydia Church the undivided half of all my real Estate and known and described as the North ½ of Lot One (1) of South West quarter of Section Eighteen (18) also South West quarter of South West quarter of Section Seven (7) all in Township Twenty five (25) Range 5 of the 4th P.M. also the undivided half of all my personal property of every kind and description by me now owned and such as horses, cattle, hogs, sheep * also the household furniture during her natural life after having disposed of a sufficient amount to pay and discharge the expenses and debts aforesaid and that at her death are the property aforesaid to her bequeathed or so much thereof as may remain unexpended to my son Edward L Church his heirs and assigns forever.
3rd I give and devise unto the said Edward L. Church the other undivided half of the lands above described and known as North ½ of Lot One (1) of South West quarter of Section Eighteen (18) and South West quarter of Section Seven (7) all in Township (25) Range Five (5) also the undivided half of the personal property of the personal property above described such as horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, farming utensils of every kind. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my son Edward L. Church my Executor of this my last will and testament *** and confirming * no other to be my last will and testament.

Personally appeared in open court George W Harris and William P Baird and upon being on oath state that they were present on the 11th day of August A.D. 1857k and saw Asa Church now deceased sign the * will that said affiants were called upon by the testator as witness to said signing that they are the subscribing witnesses to said will that they believe that at the time of said signing by said Testator the said Asa Church was of sound mind and memory and further * *.
