Mr.
Isaiah Wright
Champaign
Co. Gazette July 11, 1877, page 4. Obituary Mr. Isaiah Wright, one
of the oldest citizens of St. Joseph, died this morning at 8
o'clock. Mr. Wright was a native of North Carolina. He moved to
Indiana in an early day and built the first log house in what is
now the city of Greencastle, in that state. He has lived in this
part of Champaign Co for thirty years or more. He filled the
office of Justice of the peace for a long time after the
organization of St. Joseph township. He was respected by all. We
don't think there was a more honest man in the township than
father Wright. He was in his 86th year at the time of his death.
