Received from
Zachariah Davee Jr. & Henry Davee of Clark County, Illinois the sum of one hundred dollars and cents; being in full for the East half of the North East quarter of section No. fifteen in Township c No. nine & North of Range No. fourteen West containing Eighty acres and--hundredths, at $1.25 per acre; and for which tract, or such portion thereof shall have been ascertained not to be claimed by a valid right of pre-emption under the act of twenty second term eighteen hundred and thirty eight, or that of the first of Term eighteen hundred and forty, a patent will be issued after the twenty-second Term, eighteen hundred and forty-two; and this receipt will entitle the purchasee or assignee to a return of the purchase money, without interest, of this land claimed by such preemption right, or of the whole tract at his option $100.

Know all men by these presents That we, Zachariah Davee Jr. and Susannah Davee, his wife, of the county of Clark, and state of Illinois, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Joseph Davee of the county of Clark, and state of Illinois, have granted, bargained, and we do hereby grant, bargain, sell, assign, convey, and confirm to him the said Joseph Davee, the following tract or parcel of land, lying and being situated in the County of Clark, and state of Illinois, and particularly known and described as follows, to wit: It being the half of the undivided eighty of the East half of the North East quarter of section No. fifteen in Township No. Nine and North of Range No. fourteen West containing forty acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold the above described tract or parcel of land, to­gether with all and singular the rights, privileges and appurtenances, unto the same in any wise belonging or appertaining to him the said Joseph Davee, and to his and their heirs and assigns forever: and we do further for our heirs, Executors and administrators with the said Joseph Davee, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns that we are lawfully seized of the above described premises as of a sure, perfect and indefensible estate in fee simple; and that we with, and our heirs, Executors and administrators, shall forever warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurten­ances as aforesaid, to the said Joseph Davee, and to his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same, or any part thereof.
In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands, and affixed our seals, on the twenty sixty day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-two.

Land Deed
This indenture made this thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty eight between Gilder S. Hukill and Araminta Hukill his wife of the County of Clark and the State of Illinois of the first part and Edwin Rood, A.W. Griffin and G.W. Recoman School directors of District number seven, partly in T 11, M 12 W and partly in T 12 M 12 W in Clark County and when successors in office for the use of schools in said district of the County of Clark and State of Illinois of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to them paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm into the said party of the second part and to their successors as aforesaid a certain tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances lying and being in the County of Clark and State of Illinois, described as follows to wit.  Beginning on the township line dividing township eleven south from twelve north at a point thereon where Marshall and Castle Fin road crosses the same, hence South line roads or Southeast along said road and according to the direction thereof thence East seven rods and half hence North five rods hence West to the place of beginning about eight and a half rods containing a half of an acre, more or less and it is hereby agreed and understood between parties that said land is conveyed by the party of the first part upon the express condition that whenever the said school directors and their legal successors shall cause to use the same for school purposes in said district or in such district as may cover or take the same in, then the same shall revert to and become the property of the said party of the first part in the same manner as if this conveyance had never been made.  To have and to hold the aforesaid granted premises to the said party of the second part and their successors for their use of aforesaid and the said covenant with the said party of the second part and their successors that they are legally signed in fee simple of the aforementioned premises that they are free from all encumbrances that they have good right to sell an convey the same to the said party of the second and that they and their heirs executors and administrators will warrant and defend the said tract of land to the said part of the second part and their successors forever against the lawful claims and demand of all persons.  In witness whereof the said part of the first part have herewith set his hand and seals on the day and year first above written

This indenture, made this nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four between G.S. Hukill of the County of Clark and State of Illinois of the first part, and Gottlieb Behner, John Golden, Geo Hornbrook School Directors of District No. 7, T 11 Range 12 West Clark Co., Illinois of the second part, witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars, $20.00 in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part and their successors all the following described lot, piece or parcel of land, situated in Marshall Township in the County of Clark and State of Illinois, to wit: a half acre of ground described as follows to wit: Commencing at the north west corner of the north east quarter of Section four, Township eleven, north of range twelve, west, hence running east ten rods, hence south eight rods, hence west ten rods, hence north eight rods to the place of beginning.  And it is understood and agreed to between the parties to this contract that whenever the said land is vacated by said directors or their successors for school house purposes and is no longer used or planned by said party of the second part for school house purposes, then in that case the said land as herein described shall revert back to the said party of the first part. The same as though this deed had not been made. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted premises to the said party of the second part and their successors for their use of aforesaid and the said covenant with the said party of the second part and their successors that they are legally signed in fee simple of the aforementioned premises that they are free from all encumbrances that they have good right to sell an convey the same to the said party of the second and that they and their heirs executors and administrators will warrant and defend the said tract of land to the said part of the second part and their successors forever against the lawful claims and demand of all persons.  In witness whereof the said part of the first part have herewith set his hand and seals on the day and year first above written
