Elsie Eliner Eads

Elsie Eliner Eads, 80, of Marshall passed away at 3:30pm on Friday,
February 21 at the Burnsides Nursing Home in Marshall.
Elsie was born on March 24, 1922 in Clark County to Elijah and
Mabel (Myers) Sims. She was first married to Clarence Wallace on July 24, 1939, and he preceded her in death on
August 7, 1966. She then married Gurstle Eads, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1997.
Mrs. Eads was a retired cook.
She is survived by one son, Darrell Wallace of Marshall; one daughter
and son-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Bays of Marshall; and two grandsons, Jason Wallace of Marshall, and Mike Wallace
of Paris.
Elsie was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Jean Wallace;
and three sisters, Fern O'Neill, Alma Rosenbower, and Lorena Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on today at the Pearce Funeral
Home in Marshall. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. There will be visitation 7am until service time
on today at the funeral home.

Thomas Ellis
Thomas Ellis, 75 years old, died
Tuesday at his home, eight miles east of Carlisle, Ind., following an
attack of paralysis. He is survived by the widow, eight children, Mrs. Sam
Page, Linton, Ind.; Mrs. Moratio Bedwell, Terre Haute; Mrs. Thomas Ellis,
Sullivan; Mrs. John Forrester, Casey, Ill.; Frank Ellis, Duggar,
Ind.; Charles Carlisle, Ind., and Darr, Newcastle. There are twelve
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The burial was in the Odd
Fellows cemetery.

Mary V. Emery

Mattoon Il - Mary V. Emery, age 86, of Mattoon,
passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2000, at Mattoon Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December
18, 2000 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, with Reverend Ronald Dickinson officiating. Interment will be in
Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time Monday.
Mary V. Emery was born August 18, 1914, at Casey,
Illinois, a daughter of Everett and Margaret Vaultenburg Chambers. She married Glenn A. Emery November 22, 1934
at Westfield, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Her children, Phyllis Patrick and husband Marion
of Mattoon, Victor Lee Emery of Stockton, California, and Jean Ann Coffman of Humboldt, Tennessee survive her.
One sister, Wilma Jean Tefft of Westfield, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. One son,
one brother, one grandchild and one great-grandchild preceded her in death.
Mrs. Emery was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Westfield, the V. F. W. Auxiliary and Mattoon Women of the Moose.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.

EDWIN ENGELHARDT, 82, Martinsville, died
Monday,
10 apr 1989, in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana.
Burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville.
He was born 27 Sep 1906, in Chicago, the son of
Edwin & Martha (HATTENDORF) Englehardt.
On 12 Feb 1938, he married Marjorie MOORE.
He was Employed by the Clark County Farm Service
Company.
Member Martinsville Methodist Church.
Leaves stepson, Bill Johnson of Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Services Thursday Afternoon at 1:30 For Guy Estes
Guy Estes, 71, of Westfield, a former Casey resident,
and retired Newport Ordinance Plant employee, passed away Monday night about 10:30 o'clock at the Hilltop Nursing
Home in Charleston. He had been a patient there for five days.
Mr. Estes was born December 17, 1896 in Casey, the
son of Robert and Molly (King) Estes. He had been the Casey Twp. supervisor from 1937 to 1941.
Surviving are, two sons, Doyle of Griffith, Ind.,
and Kermit of Joliet; six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Maulding, Casey, Mrs. Ilene Trout of Martinsville, Mrs. Mary
Connelly and Mrs. Betty Blagg of Westfield, Mrs. Neta Schwarz of Chicago and Mrs. Myrna Walters of Joliet; one
Half-brother, Arthur Voltenburg of Westfield; one sister, Mrs. Ada Cooley of Dundas; one Half-sister, Mrs. Maggie
Pemberton of Oblong; 28 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Estes was a member of Westfield Masonic Lodge
No. 982.
Friends may call at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 from
the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating. Burial will be in Casey Washington St. Cemetery.
The Westfield Masonic Lodge will conduct services
at 8 o'clock tonight from the funeral home.
