| The institute closed last Friday, about 80 failing to get the required
grade to entitle them to certificates.
A number of these, however, took an examination and retrieved themselves. Below is a list of those who attended, arranged by townships. |

Marshall leads with 37 candidates, Martinsville comes next with 19 and Wabash and Casey follow with 15 each. Parker has the smallest number of 3. Anderson twp sent not a single teacher. The entire enrollment according to this table was 148 and all but two of these live in Clark County.
