Query submitted Sept. 21, 2010:
BROWN -- Hello, My name is Linda Brown Clark and I live in Western Kentucky. My Father's surname is Brown. I know, looking for a name like that is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Anyway here is my question. My Great Grand Father was John William Brown, he married Rosanna Burkett in Clay County, Illinois in the City of Louisville on 31 January 1876. I would love to have a copy of their marriage record and consent if there is one. My hope is that a consent would show who their parents were. I would be happy to pay for the copy and postage. Is there anyone out researching either one of these two surnames in Clay County? My Grand-Father was James Lester Brown who married Carrie E. Baylor. My Father was James Loren Brown. Can anyone help me?

BURKETT -- I am interested in knowing more about the BURKETT family. Eber C. (1896-1974) and Jessie Sandy Burkett (1895-1975) and Lionel A. and Thelma Hunley Burkett. The ‘Burkett’ house currently sits at 440 Fairfield St. in Xenia. It is my understanding that the front of the house had a major fire back in the 50’s and a good portion of the front of the house was torn down and not rebuilt. I would love to see a picture of the original house and I would be extremely grateful for any information about the Burketts. I believe that Eber C. Burkett was an early representative for Union Oil and he had his office at the address of 440 Fairfield St. in Xenia. Thank you, Senna Lewis

TRAINOR/TRANER -- I am hoping to learn about the burial site and information about Lydia (Erwin) Trainor/Traner. She had two daughters, Ida Ella Trainor b.28 Dec. 1862 and Martha R. Trainor b.abt.1865. She was the daughter of Jarrett L. and Susan (Maxwell) Erwin. 1850-60 census records Lydia was with her father. She married James A. Traner (actually, Trainor) 16 Jan. 1862. She apparently died before the 1870 census, where James was found with a brother on their sister’s farm in Bullitt Co. Ky. 1880 James was with his daughters again, but living in Jasper Co., Illinois.
