Any info on Frederick John Elliott who married Elizabeth Mathilda McWhinnie, a son George Frances Elliott born
1905. We think they were from PA, Elizabeth died probably in Cook Co., IL, and probably before 1954. George worked
for the railroad. We think his dad did, too.
I can't find anything on these people and these would be my husbands grandparents.

like information on any descendents or their family in Denmark. Their sister was my grandmother.

I'm searching for information about Christian JAECKLE/YACKLE (not sure of how he spelled his name in America).
Christian JAECKLE was born May 10, 1847 in Schwenningen, Wurttemberg, Germany. He came to America and was a mail
carrier for 37 years in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Stories passed down through the generations say that he
also spoke several languages.
Please contact me if you think you might know something that would add to my search of Christian JAECKLE/YACKLE.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You might want to check out "Sam Fink's Chicago Marriage and Death Index".
From the book "Chicago and Cook County: A Guide to Research" by Loretto Dennis Szucs, published by Ancestry
in 1996.
Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information for the marriage and death index originated in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Evening Journal, Chicago
Democrat, Chicago Examiner, Chicago Evening Post, Chicago Record Herald, Chicago Daily News, Chicago Examiner and
the Inter-Ocean.
The marriage index covers the years of 1833-1871. The death index covers the years of 1856-1889. The film is in
the locality secion of the Family History Library catalog under Illinois, Cook, Vital Records Indexes--Chicago
Marriage and Death Indexes in the custody of Sam Fink--film #1321939.

The only other spelling I have found for Baureis is the the e and i are reversed ( Bauries ) it is pronounced Borris.
The family came from Hessen, Germany about 1860. Lorenz and Barbara Baureis had three sons George 1863, Maximillon
1865 and Lorenz Jr. 1867 all born in New York City. Over the years it could have taken on other forms. Sorry, I

If you have not done so already, go to www.mapquest.com and print out a map for the street address you're looking
for. Now using the map and the ED's location description, try to narrow down the location. It may take a bit of
time, but it will be worth the time. This is how I was able to locate my entire family in Blue Island, IL.
Also, if you're using Ancestry for your research, you can use the soundex to try to find them in the index; or
you can use just a first name or the first three letters of the last name with soundex. Using just an age, give
or take one year in either direction may also be helpful. sometimes you can find the child and the parents are
usually not far away. Anyway, good luck and hope this helps.

7142 Ridgeland is in Oak Lawn, Illinois. It is southwest of Chicago, but not far. If you have a Chicago map, Ridgeland
is called either Narragansett or Nagel and 7142 is just south of 87th Street.

An easy way to find an E.D. # for the 1930 census can be found at the National Archives and Records Administration
site:
http://1930census.archives.gov/beginSearch.asp
Choose "Illinois" then click "Continue."
Next, scroll down to "Search Places" and enter "Ridgeland."
A list of possibilities should pop up, from which you can choose which one would be the closest to 7142 Ridgeland.
(Sometimes the exact street name you are looking for may not be listed, in which case you need to search the nearby
streets instead)

Doing research on Krug and Wolff surnames. I have run across a very fuzzy picture which appears to be a graduation
picture from Lindblom H.S. possibly 1899-1925. Individuals listed: A. Krug, Carl Krug, F.H. Krug, F. Krug, Freida
Krug, W. Krug, Sigmund Wolffs, Rafael Wolff, Abraham Wolff. Source is given as The Eagle, Lindblom High, Chicago,
IL.
We have Jacob Wolff b 10-10-1836 in Melsheim, France, and his 3rd cousins Ferdinand Winslow Krug b 1836 in Baden
Germany and Francis Xavier Krug b in Baden Germany (spelling changed to Crooks after arrival in U.S.) coming to
the U.S. Father of Ferdinand and Francis was Anthony Krug b in Baden Germany . Their mother was Thurza ???? Both
Jacob Wolff and the Krug family were in Ohio after their arrival in the U.S. Jacob Wolff and Ferdinand Krug/Crooks
settled in Clinton, Henry, MO. We have no informtion on the Wolff ancestors. Hoping someone can give a little information
on these family members.
Family information is that Anthony and Thurza Krug/Crooks had three children and one of them got separated from
the family when they arrived in the United States and was never found.

Do you know if he came through Ellis Island? If so, you may be able to find him in the passenger arrival index.
I wasn't so luck, but finally found my grandfather in the Philadelphia passenger arrival index. There was the card
with his name, his address, full naturalization date and names of witnesses.
Passenger arrival indexes can be ordered through your local Family History Center of the LDS Church. You have access
to the microfilm for several weeks (although you probably won't need it that long as the indexes are in alphabetical
order.) The cost is about $3.25 to rent the film.
This really helped me and I've gotten confirmation that Immigration just got my request for my grandfather's records.
Hope this helps you.

I never met nor have any information on the first relative on my dads family. He was born John Joseph Roberts around
1900 (+-)supposedly in Cook County Chicago His dad was supposed to be Harry ROBERTS and mother was Margurite, Margaret,
Margrite or some variation of that and maiden last name of DORAN. My dad supposedly had twin sisters (names unknown)
that I believe were younger than he. He was in a catholic school somewhere in the area and ran off around the age
of 16 , lied about his age and joined the army. Those records (military) were lost in the St Louis fire.
Thats it. I can't think of a single additional bit of info to help. He passed away in 1969 and I can't get any
more information than listed above. ANY information however slight would be appreciated. I would just like to have
a bit of history to pass on to my kids.

You state that you know the year he died. Do you also know WHERE he died? If so, it would be good to get a death
certificate. Even if you don't know the exact date, there are several professional search firms that will find
this person for a fee.
The death certificate contains valuable information as to where he is buried and usually his SSN. If you can obtain
his SSN, request an original copy of his SS-5 which will give you the names of his parents including his mother's
maiden name and the location of his birth as well as his birth date.
If you are able to obtain the date and location of his birth, you can then request a copy of his birth certificate.
Again, there are search firms that will do this. If he had a twin, it would be listed on his birth certificate.
I know this sounds like a lot of work, but it will be worth it. Good luck in your search!

I am trying to find out information about my grandfather, Dewey Sargeant. He was born in Michigan on 10/02/98;
father was David Sargeant & mother was Rebecca Gray. He grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and married Mary Louise Deshetler
about 1921-1923. They had 2 living children, Jeanne Ruth Sargeant (my mother, born 1923 in Toledo, Ohio) and Robert
Patrick Sargeant (born about 1931 in Norwood, Ohio). Dewey Sargeant shows up in the 1930 census in Norwood, Ohio
with my grandmother and mother. Sometime after my uncle Robert Patrick Sargeant's birth, Dewey Sargeant left the
family and moved by himself to Illinois. At some point, he and my grandmother were divorced. My grandmother settled
in Defiance, Ohio after my grandfather left the family and raised my mother and her brother as a single parent.
My grandfather apparently settled in Cicero where he died 02/13/1971; he was buried in Rock Island National Cemetery,
Moline, Illinois. I'm looking for any information about my grandfather, including names of a possible second wife
and any children whom might be my half-relatives.

I am looking for an obituary for Asmus Boysen. The information I have said he died in Chicago in November,1938.
An obituary has not been found in the local newspapers for that time period by another searcher. He was married
to Anna Leet in Chicago on December 19, 1889.
Thank you,
Mary

In response to message #1
Have you tried the newspaper called "Chicago Daily News"? They had more obits in it, then some of the
other newspapers. I believe your local library can get you the microfilm through the Interlibrary Loan Program.
This particular newspaper quit publishing in around 1978.
Hope this helps,

Hello,
A 1920 fed Census and lists a Daniel MINUGH birthplace IL, County Cook. (age 74 at the time of the census) \
I seem to be stuck on this as this is the only information that I have seen on this Daniel MINUGH. This would mean
he was born about or around 1846. If you have any information, or know where to find any information, could you
please contact me? Any help would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
M.Jackson

I am searching for any information on the following family:
Thomaas Francis KELLY (could possibly be Francis KELLY) married to Mary GLENNON (sp unsure). They had 6 children.
I know for a fact the first two were born in Boston, MA, but the family moved from Boston to Chicago sometime betweeen
1862 and 1872, so I am not sure where the other 4 children were born. The children are as follows;
Mary KELLY - b 1860
Thomas Francis KELLY (Jr?) - b 1862
Robert Emmett KELLY - b 1864
John KELLY - b 1866
Kate KELLY - b 1868
William KELLY - b 1870
Mary KELLY was called "Aunt Mamie" by my ggrandmother, and Kate KELLY was called "Aunt Annie".
Possibly Kate's middle name is Anne or Annie??
Thomas Francis Jr. moved to East St. Louis, IL, sometime before 1888, when he married Juliette MECHIN. I am not
sure if the rest of the family stayed in Chicago or not.
Anyone with any info to share, please email me at angie25622652@yahoo.com. Thanks for your time!!
