THE TUSCOLA JOURNAL
Saturday, November 9, 1872
A. BARRETT, Carpenter, has moved, with his family, to Kankakee, Ill.
Billy CONNOR, our night watch, is losing his eye-sight and has been to Chicago to have his eyes examined.
HASTINGS & VANDYKE are still the propriotors of the bakery. They failed to make a trade with Mr. STICKLES, after invoicing.
Rev. George J. BARRETT will preach at the Methodist Church, Tuscola, Sunday, Nov. 10, morning and evening.
Our old fellow citizen J. P. ELLIOTT, has purchased one-half interest in the Tuscola Mills. This establishment has been steadily gaining public favor for the past year, and we feel warranted in saying that Mr. ELLIOTT will increase it's business.
A son of Frank LIESE, engineer at Ervin DAVIS & Co.'s warehouse, while in the engine room on Wednesday morning had his left hand caught between a belt and one of the wheels on the engine, nearly severing one finger and cutting a severe gash across the knuckles.
Last week we stated that Dr. APPERSON was at James BRIANTS. We were misinformed. He was thrown from his buggy near Thomas CRAWLEY's where he was taken and has remained ever since. Persons who have went from here to sit up with him give it as their opinion that he will not recover his mind.

BRIDE TARRIED, MISSES TRAIN - Who could blame a bride for missing a train when a bonnet set awry might spoil a wedding. Mr. James Stevens, 64y of Camargo and Mrs. Mary Miller, 56y Atwwod had planned to meet Thansgiving Day, but she did not arrive on the 12:15 train. The groom sent a team to Atwood to learn the cause and they were later married that day.
