"Record made by Laura Kendall Thomas and Nell Henry Bader", D.A.R. 1938
Transcribed by ©2004, Kim Torp
"This is an old cemetery that was used in the days when Elmhurst was known as Cottage Hill. It contains a half acre of ground. The tombstones are gone and a stranger would not realize the ground was ever used as a cemetery.
It is located in the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 3, Township 39, Range 11E. It is north of St. Charles Road and the Tri-State Highway now runs between the cemetery and Salt Creek.
Following are the names of some who are buried there and the name of the person who told me (Transcriber's note: Laura Kendall Thomas) of their burial.
Probably no burials were made there after the 1870's."
