             According to Family legend, Milton first saw his wife Mary as a baby. 
             He told Mary’s mother to save her for him, he was going to come back 
             and marry her. He did fifteen years later, 03/19/1887.
		   
		   
             They  were  married  at H.C. Taylor’s house in  Casey Co. KY, in the 
             presence  of  Preston   Crockran  and  Joshua Clarkson by D.R. Hays, 
             Minister... Mary Caroline 


             Mary Caroline (Taylor) Brown filed for  divorce from Milton E. Brown 
             which was granted 11/28/1918 in Franklin CO IL.

             In the 1920  census, Milton  is  listed  at a  separate  address  by 
             himself. He is  renting where he is living. He is  also  listed as a 
             "widower" (maybe wishful  thinking on  his part). He is  listed as a 
             coal miner. Mary is listed  by herself as the keeper  of a  boarding 
             house which she  owns and on which she has a  mortgage . Her marital 
             status is "divorced". She is 45 years of age.

             Milton  died  on April 12, 1943  from Ptomein Poisoning while living 
             with  his  daughter  Gertrude in  Christopher  IL. January 20, 1999, 
             he was a coal miner.

William Goebel Brown Birth: 13 May 1900, Kentucky Death: 04 Apr 1950, Bell & Zollar Mine #2, Zeigler, IL Burial: 07 Apr 1950, Royalton Cemetery, Royalton, IL Spouses: Nona Parent Rose Miser He was killed when covered by rib coal at Bell & Zollar mine #2 in Zeigler IL. Nona Brown, his wife, was the informant on the cert. According to the cert, he served in WWI.
   Christopher Man Killed in Mine ZEIGLER, IL., 
                                April 6, 1950 
    An inquest will be held today in the death of Goebel Brown,49, 
    a timberman killed in a coal fall at a mine here yesterday. 
    Brown, who lived in Christopher, was employed at the Bell and 
    Zoller Coal Company’s No. 2 mine. Fellow workers said he was 
    almost killed in the coal fall yesterday and died before he 
    was brought to "thesurface. A company spokesman said Brown 
    apparently died of  internal injuries since there were no 
    marks on his body.

     Uncle Dan was a member of the Charlie Birger Gang that ran bootleg
     liquor, and fought with the  Shelton Gang  from St. Louis area for 
     the rights to Booze and gambling. Uncle Dan was a bartender at the 
     Shady Rest, a tavern between Marion  and Harrisburg. Uncle Dan was 
     arrested with 3 other gang members for mugging a man in Colp and a 
     stolen car. He was sentenced to  Menard for  10  years to life for 
     this crime. These events are documented in  Knight of another Sort 
     by Gary DaNeal. His birthplace was determined from his application 
     for Social Security in 1945. I received a picture of Birger’s gang 
     members  in  Menard  Penitentary. Uncle Dan  as listed as Alton D. 
     Parker AKA Danny Brown. I  received a copy of  his  prison  record 
     also.  Uncle Dan  went  in   Menard  in 1927, he escaped in  1931, 
     returned to  Menard in 1933. He was then sent  to  Joliet where he 
     served time until 1945. At that time he was shipped back to Menard 
     where he was released to the Railroad.
