Levi Bevard, farmer, sec. 2; P. O., Cuba. Levi is a son of Jacob
and Anna (Buckley) Bevard; was born in Licking county, O., in 1825.
Eleven years later he was brought to this county. Mr. B. had very
meager opportunities to gain an education. He used to work out by the
month. He remembers working for Isaac Dowell at $7 per month, and also
for A. C. Thomas at same figures. He now owns 240 acres of good land.
He was married in the Buckeye State to Miss Bettie Newel, who has borne
him 5 children. Susan, John and Jasper are living; one girl and one boy
deceased.
