Royal Bliss, son of Isaac Bliss, of Avon, was born in Orange
county, Vt., June 21, ’27. He was educated in the common schools of his
native State and came to this county in 1856, and since has filled
several local offices. He spent 20 years upon the railroads of the
East. He was untied in marriage with Maria Stoddard, in Putney, Vt.,
May 1, 1840. She was born in Westminster, Vt. They had 7 children born
to them, 6 of whom are living. William clerks in the store for his
father, who is engaged in general merchandising. Royal’s father has
recently returned from California where he has been living for several
years.
