John Freiley, farmer, sec. 27; P. O., Summum. Until he reached
his majority Mr. F. passed his life upon a farm, since which time he
followed first one thing and then another until 9 years ago, when he
again returned to farming. After leaving the farm he first worked in a
saw-mill for a time, then engaged in the dry-goods business for several
years, then returned to the saw-mill business. He came to this state in
1834, and is the present Assessor for Pleasant township. In July, 1837,
he was married to Mary Lane, who was born in Ohio August 18, 1858.
There has been a family of 9 children born to them, 7 of whom are
living, Edgar, Oscar, Grace, Flora, Jason, Lois, Zenas, Fannie and Ira.
