HISTORICAL CALENDAR: March 8, 1858 - Carthage, Illinois
Republican meeting at Carthage of those opposed to the Kansas-Nebraska Bill. thomas Gregg of Warsaw appointed chairman and George W. Batchelder of Carthage secretary.
