Billy Hicks

Billy Edward Hicks, 72, of Springfield, IL. died Friday, August 4, 2006, at Capital Care Center.

He was born May 19, 1934, in Rosiclare, the son of Oscar and Gracie Dunaway Hicks.

Mr. Hicks was a storeroom clerk at J. C. Penney Co.  He was a member of Salvation Army Church, where he was a member of the Friendship Club and Home League, and volunteered for the Salvation Army.

There are no survivors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine Curtis; and a brother, James T. Hicks.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Paul and Barbara Logan officiating.

Staab Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
