Earl Halter

Earl Lee Halter, 86, of Harrisburg, IL. died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006.

He was a carpenter and a World War II army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, (Collier) Halter, Harrisburg; a son, Thomas Lee (Debbie) Halter, Sr., Kokomo, IN; a step-daughter, Juanita (Lloyd) Belford, Herod; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren (with another one due in September); and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Mary Joiner Halter; three brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Robert; and a daughter, Diana Sue Leavell.

Visitation will be held Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel, Harrisburg.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sloan Street General Baptist Church where he was a member.  Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Golconda.

Memorials may be made to Camp Oxford Youth Camp.
