Judge Terrence "Terry" Hopkins

Judge Terrence "Terry" Hopkins, 58, of Mount Vernon, died 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2006, at his home in Mount Vernon.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, with Fr. Daniel Jurek officiating.  Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in West Frankfort.

He was a Fifth District Appellate Court Justice since 1994; Circuit Judge of Second Judicial Circuit 1983-1994; Chief Judge of Second Judicial Circuit 1987-1991.

He is survived by his wife, Jeri; his mother, Gladys Hopkins; twins sons, Sean (Lisa) Hopkins of Sellersburg, IN and Aaron M. Hopkins of West Frankfort; a daughter, Taylor Hornung of Mount Vernon; three brothers, George (Tina) Hopkins, Jr., Leonard (Lisa) Hopkins and Mike (Holly) Hopkins, all of West Frankfort; a sister, Maureen (Jack) Hogg of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
