Allard Peters
Mrs.
Katherine Allard Peters, age 78, of Manassas,
VA., died March 4, 1997 at Prince William
Hospital.
Born
in Rosiclare, Il, Mrs. Peters was the daughter
of the late William B. & Bess (Conn)
Allard. Mrs. Peters was a member of the First
Methodist Episcopal Church in Rosiclare, Il.
She was a past Regent of the Reavis-Ashley
Chapter of the National Society of the
Daughters of the American Revolution in Falls
City, NE., as well as a member of the
Elizabeth McIntosh Hammill Chapter in
Manassas, Va. Mrs. Peters was a Past
Noble Grand of the Independent Order of
Oddfellows, Past Daughter of the Nile, Past
Daughter of the B.P.O. Does, and Order of
Eastern Star 225, all in Falls City, NE. She
also attended the Joy Sunday School Class
& Bible study at Manassas Baptist Church.
Mrs. Peters was also an oil painter. From Jan.
13 through Feb. 10 of this year, she had a one
woman art exhibit at the Manassas Campus of
Northern Virginia Community College.
She
was predeceased by her husband, John G.H.
Peters. Survivors include daughter, Eowana B.
Jordan of Manassas, VA; step-daughter, Mary
Kathryn Horton of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Mary
Humm of Harrisburg, Il., Billie Johnson of
Phoenix, AZ., Susan Kauffman of Des Moines,
IA.
Family
will receive friends at Guardian Midtown
Funeral Home on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Entombment will be in the Abbey Mausoleum at
Rose Hill Burial Park, OKC, Saturday, March 8,
at 10 a.m.
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to charity of donor's choice.
