Henry Stanford

Henry Stanford, 81, of Goreville passed away at 4:55 am, Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

His wishes were to be cremated. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and may be sent to in C/O Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Blue Funeral Home in Goreville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stanford was born on April 17, 1922 in Rosiclare, IL to Charles and Oma (Slanden) Stanford. He married Mildred Pearson on November 10, 1941 in Charles, MO.

His survivors include his daughters, Nedra and Ed Shue of Goreville, Linda and Tim Philport of Torrence, CA, Blenda and John Cosgrave of Joliet, IL; son, Skip Stanford of Joliet, IL; grandchildren, Jay, Jennifer, Russ, Randy, and Michelle; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Pearson of Mabank, TX; sister-in-law, Anna Lee and Art Miskowski of Goreville; also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and one brother James Stanford.

Mr. Stanford's hobbies included golf, hunting and fishing, also bowling, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He was also a Mason.
