Robert W. Shetler

Robert W. Shetler, 71, of Greencastle and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday April 16, 2006. 

He was born on January 17, 1935 in Rosiclare, IL to Floyd E. and Margaret Bell Zimmers Shetler. 

He was a graduate of Rosiclare High School class of 1953, a member of Emmanuel Christian Church in Limedale, Woodmen of the World, and Local 60 in Indianapolis, where he retired as a Trim Carpenter. 

His parents and a brother, Earl Shetler, preceded him in death. 

He married Opal N. Nicoson Sharp on August 4, 1984. 

Surviving are his wife Opal of Greencastle; two sons, Robert W. Shetler, Jr. and wife, Rose, of Indianapolis, Christopher H. Shetler and wife Barbara of McCordsville; one daughter, Julie Sheller of Indianapolis; a sister, Wilma Smith of Indianapolis; two step-sons, Gerald W. "Bud" Sharp and wife, Carolyne of Greencastle and Roger L. Sharp and wife, Ursula of Greencastle; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 20, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, 602 East Washington Street, Greencastle. Rev. Greg Hammond and Rev. Gary Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Boone Hutcheson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
