MSgt. Alfred Deen Warren, 59, Harrisonville,
MO, passed away Friday, December 21, 2001, at
Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.
Funeral
services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27,
2001, at the Dickey Funeral Home, 2401 E.
Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO; burial in Orient
Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. Visitation will
be 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26,
2001, at the funeral home.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the American
Heart Association and may be left at the
funeral home.
Mr.
Warren was born September 22, 1942, in Rosiclare,
IL, the son of John Thomas and Gracie Nova
(Carmen) Warren.
On May
9, 1986, Al was united in marriage to Janis
Kay Lindsay Bohannon in Miami, OK.
Al was
a Master Sergeant for the Air Force until his
retirement in 1983 and was an employee of the
Civil Services at Whiteman Air Force Base,
Knob Noster, MO, since 1987. In 2000, Al was
recognized as the Civilian Laborer/Craftsman
of the year by the 509th Civil Engineering
Squadron at Whiteman. He was a Vietnam veteran
receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal
with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Good
Conduct Medal with four oak leaf clusters,
Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Army
Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity
Service Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters,
National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam
Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign
Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and
the Air Force Presidential Unit Citation with
one oak leaf cluster.
Al was
a square dance caller for 32 years and was a
member of the KAMO Callers Association. He was
inducted in to the Missouri State Callers Hall
of Fame in 1998. He was a member of the Cass
County Memorial Post of the VFW 4409 and a
charter member of the Cass County Elks Lodge
2791, both of Harrisonville. Al had lived in
Knob Noster before moving to Harrisonville in
1986.
Besides
his parents, he was preceded in death by a
brother, Russell Warren.
He is
survived by his wife, Janis K. Warren, of the
home, four sons, Gary D. Warren, Fort Worth,
TX, Tsgt. Allen D. Warren, and his wife,
Johanna, currently stationed in Greenville,
TX, Timothy L. Warren, Lone Jack, MO, Bradley
D. Warren, Lee's Summit, MO, a stepson, Mathew
Bohannon, Harrisonville, MO, a stepdaughter,
Tammi R. Bohannon, McAllen, TX, six
grandchildren, Andrea, Ashley, Amanda,
Catherine, Noah, and Skyler, three brothers,
Ralph Warren, Elizabethtown, IL, J. T. Warren,
Boston, MA, Jerry Warren, St. Petersburg, FL,
a sister, Betty Erb, Marrisa, IL, other
relatives and many friends.
