Darrow
The new station on the Walsh road in Sheldon Township has been located on the old Darrough Farm in section 21, owned by John S. Darrough. The railroad runs through the section from north to south about the center and the station is on the north side of the wagon road n the south section line. Thje location is about eight miles due east of Woodland. The new town has been named Darrow. Herron and Patterson of Milford are already putting up an elevator shich, with the plants at Bryce and MIlford, make three for them.
Note: Darrough is pronounced the same as Darrow.

A different source:
The Darrough family came to Iroquois County in 1856 and Homesteaded 200 acres where the cross roads of Darrow east of Woodland. the name was simplified to put a station at the crossroads.
In 1912 following a "Tent Revival" a group of neighbors in the vicintiy of Darrow station formed theDarrow Christain Church.. A building was erected the next year. The group had been meeting in a near by school.

Darrow was platted in 1907 , never incorporated.

As late as even 1936 there was a little general store at the town or Darrow. There is a large two story brick house located there also and still (2006) it is occupied. The church is still there and still active.
