Obit: Gertrude Yarno
Hoopeston__ Gertrude Yarno, 90, of Hoopeston
, a 52 year resident of Watskea before moving to Hoopeston in 1960, died Saturday (Feb. 14, 1998) at The Hoopeston
Community Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. Wednesday until the 11 A. M. Services at Hamilton-Orr Funeral
Home in Hoopeston. The Rev. E. Brooks Barrick
will officiate.
Burial will be in GAR cemetery, Watseka. Memorial may be made to the Hoopeston Community Nursing Home. She was
born Feb. 10,1908 in Watskea, the daughter of Henry and Augusta Volkens Boomgarden. Her husband, Frederick Yarno,
whom she married Oct 28, 1937 in Monticello, IN., Died in 1971. Surviving are one daughter and Son- In-law, Phyllis
and Larry Coon of Hoopeston; three Grandchildren,
Joe Coon of Los Angeles, Ca., Cheryl and
Patrick Overlander of Hoopeston and Robin
and Frank Jackson of Clarksvile, Tenn;
four great grand children, several nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Lucy Meyers of Kentland, In. Two sister are deceased.
Obit: Fred Yarno Dies; Services to be Sunday.
A former long-time Watseka resident, Fred Yarno, 82 of 650 1/2 East McNeil Street, Hoopeston, died Friday, March 5, at 2:10 a.m. at the Hoopeston
Community Hospital. He had resided in Watseka for 35 years and was employed by John Neff and
by the L. B. Segur Company. for the last 11 years he made his home in Hoopeston. Mr. Yarno was born June 12, 1888 in Benton County In. a son of Olivar and Flonies Marquuis
Yarno and was married Oct. 28,, 1937 in Monticello, In. to Gertrude Boomgarden. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Maurice
of Riverside Ca. and Freddie of Denver Co.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucile Anton of Bourbonnais, Mrs. Frances Peters
of Riverside CA., Mrs. Frieda Best of
Bradley and Mrs. Phyllis Coon of
Hoopeston, ; 22 Grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; a brother Ora of Lafayette, Ind. and Mrs. Denis Betourne of Bradley.
Mr. Yarno was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters and a daughter.
