THE AVA CITIZEN
7TH ANNUAL HOMECOMING
FRIDAY, JULY 1 and July 15, 1927
HOME COMERS
Donated by ŠJack Callahan
JULY 1 - Ava's Seventh Annual Home Coming will
be held in this city on Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, 1927. Ava has
held six successful home comings and it is fully expected that the seventh will
also be a successful affair. At least the committee in charge is so determined
and is putting forth its best efforts to insure such a result.
The committee has mailed out hundreds of postal cards, with reply cards
attached, to former residents of Ava and vicinity, inviting them to be present
and asking them to state on the reply card if they expect to attend the home
coming in this city on August 19 and 20, 1927. Scores of the cards have been
returned on which the writer states he or she expects to come to Ava for the
Home Coming and in nearly all cases they expect to bring their families along.

JULY 15 - The days and dates for the Ava
Seventh Annual Home Coming, now five weeks away, are drawing nearer day by day.
The time is Friday and Saturday, August 19 and 20, 1927. Be sure to fix these
dates in your mind and make up your mind to be among the crowds attending the
Home Coming.
The arrangements committee are staying on the job and are confident that they
will line up a nice program of attractions and entertainment, for the occasion.
It is expected to have a merry go-round and a chair plane swing which the
children and maybe older folks will enjoy. The committee is in touch with the
owner of these pleasure attractions but have not yet signed up a contract with
him, though they expect to do so within a few days. There is to be a base ball
game each afternoon of the Home Coming with the Ava team opposed to some strong
club both afternoons.
The Home Coming is to be at the Wright Park. There is shade for your comfort.
There-in and on the Twin Lakes you may boat or bathe or swim.
Dancing will be enjoyed in the evening.
Free parking space will be provided.
The committee on Monday afternoon at the park auctioned off the right to conduct
two drink stands two lunch stands and two ice cream stands during the Home
Coming, which insures you getting plenty of refreshments. There will also be a
novelty stand and different other concessions.

Coming keep coming in to The Ava Citizen and the Home Coming Committee. In
