*I just came across some photos of the Murphysboro 1925 tornado, taken by my grandfather.
My grandparents were Ellis and Marie Isom, who lived in Murphysboro with my mother, Eulalie Isom Cahill.  Mom was five years old when the tornado hit.  Their home was damaged but not demolished, while much of their neighborhood was left in ruins.  Oddly, he didn't take a picture of their home, but took several of the schools and businesses.
