Breeseville was located between the part of Grand Tower known as "Redtown" and Fountain Bluff.  Approximately where the current power plant sits along the river. The post office was established 27 Sep 1839, first Postmaster was John Clodfelther.  Then H M Jenkins from 12 Oct 1844 until the office was discontinued 06 May 1845.

Murphysboro. A post office was established in Old Brownsville on 24 November, 1817.  This office was discontinued on 26 August, 1825 and reestablished on 22 February, 1826.  The name was then changed to Murphysboro on 23 December, 1843.  Another name change occurred around 1855, Murphysborough and again on 23 September, 1893, back to Murphysboro.  These are a list of the Post Masters from 1817-1930.
