Post Card Photo addressed to Clinton Weaver of Baird Wash.:

Rosemont, IL
Sep 4, 1912
Dear Bro:
I send you a picture of the house you were born in.
Was down on a few days visit and took a few picture of the relics of that place of which this is one.
Bring wife and come out for a visit. We would be glad to have you come.
How is threshing this year?
Your Bro. Edd.

The above picture was sent in by Katie Buchanan who adds:

Clinton Weaver, my grandfather (by his second wife), was born 23 Dec 1875 in Jasper County, Illinois, and died 25 Apr 1969 in Covina, Los Angeles, California. His parents were William Henry Weaver (28 Oct 1844, Indiana - 17 Oct 1927, Decatur, Macon, Illinois) and Caroline Adlyn Slack (1 Apr 1854, Richland County, Illinois - 2 Feb 1945, Decatur, Macon, Illinois).

Sonora Genevieve Stark, born 7 Jun 1878 (or 1879) in Missouri, was a daughter of Daniel Stark (1833, Kentucky - 10 Apr 1894, Jasper County, Illinois) and Nancy Trainer (or Trainor) (23 Oct 1834, Kentucky - 24 Jul 1918, Jasper County, Illinois).

Sonora died a mere four years after her marriage, as I discovered on your website in an obituary for "Mrs. Nola Weaver," on 26 Mar 1904, "one-half mile west of Boos."

The family story is that my grandfather was heartbroken and within two years went West, settling in Eastern Washington, where he met my grandmother. I can find no evidence of two daughters who died that were part of that story.

Sincerely,
Katie Buchanan
