Died March 31, 1865 near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina (at sea)

(Company F., 56th Regiment, Illinois Infantry Volunteers)

Settled in Jefferson County, Illinois about 1843.
 

Married May 2, 1844 to Dicey Dodson (1st wife)

Dicey was born in 1820 at Knox County, Kentucky a daughter of Isaac Dodson and Mary Gibson.

She died in 1858 and is buried at Hopewell Cemetery at Jefferson County, Illinois.

Children:

Sarah, John, James, Joseph, and Mary.
 

Married March 22, 1860 to Mary A. "Polly" Dodson (2nd wife)

Mary was born in 1834 at White County, Tennessee a daughter of Archibald Dodson and Barbara Miller.
She died in 1926 and is buried in an unmarked grave at Old Shiloh Cemetery at Jefferson County, Illinois.
