Letter from Alva Shehorn to Gertie Roberson writen Nov. 25, 1903
Miss Gertie Roberson
Ina Ill
Dear friend. It no doubt will be a great surprise to you
to recieve a letter from your friend who
has been silent in regard to letter weiting forever. It may not be
such a space of time until you recieve
another if you come with an early reply. Some time the old folks may
not have the right to stop our
fun that they have now. I hope not at any rate. We can go together
some on the sly. I mean when
your folks are not around. We might get to talk some by you going up
to Clark's some night and let
me know and I would come up there. I don't see any harm in young people
having a littel fun do you
would your folks find it out if I was to send the letters by mail.
I will give{crossed out} send this one
by Logan and he can give it to Annie at school. She can give it to
you. I came very near getting struck
on Bessie when I was down there bailing hay. Well I will make this
letter short it being the first one.
Your true friend
Alva Shehorn
