Dr. Samuel H. Hilliard was born in Tensas Parish, La., January 10, 1851. His father, John D. Hilliard, is a native of New Hampshire, and resides in Carlyle, Ill. Our subject was educated in Washington Seminary, at Richview, Ill. He graduated from the Medical Institute, of Cincinnati, Ohio, in March, 1877. He came to this county in 1877, soon after graduation, and has built up a large and remunerative practice. Was married in 1879 to Miss Florence, daughter of Joseph F. Clark, of Farrington Township, this county. The Doctor owns 40 acres of land and is a member of the Masonic fraternity.
