Of Waltonville
Dies At Age 84

Mrs. Margaret L. Allen died early today at her home in Waltonville at the age of 84 years. Mrs. Allen, who was effectionately known by her many friends as "Aunt Maggie," had been in ill health since March. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist church in Waltonville and burial will be in Dryden cemetery. The body will remain at the Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser, where friends may call until the funeral hour. Mrs. Allen was born in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Frank and Margaret Kolinsky. She was married 61 years ago to John F. Allen, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Allen observed their 60th wedding anniversary at their home last year. Mrs. Allen had been a member of the Methodist church since 1893. She is survived by her husband, John F. Allen, a well known retired farmer; one son, Joe Frank Allen, a Mt. Vernon attorney; one daughter, Mrs. Katie Mae Hart of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs Minnie Lemons of near Sesser; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
