Archer, Elinor Maureen 81, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 
Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Survived by husband Robert Archer 
of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 2 sons; John Thomas Archer and wife Mary K. of St. Louis, 
Missouri,Robert Richard Archer and wife Cynthia A. of Peoria, Illinois; daughter Debbie 
Bunting and husband Randy of Carmi, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; Zachary Thomas Archer of 
Chicago, Illinois,Carolyn Marie Archer of St. Louis, Missouri, Patrick Charles Archer and 
wife Lindsay of Ames, Iowa,Erin Elizabeth Archer of Chicago, Illinois, Michael Robert Archer 
of Peoria, Illinois, Emily Ann Bunting of Carmi, Illinois, Courtney Marie Bunting of Carmi, 
Illinois; sister-in-law Rosemary Mester of Petersburg, Illinois; several nieces and nephews 
survive; her parents and one brother: Henry Mester preceded her in death. Elinor was a 
member of the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary in Mount Vernon.Born Thursday, 
July 31, 1924in Springfield, Illinois to Elmer Henry Mester & Mary (Linges) Mester. She 
Married Robert Archer on January 26, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois. She Retired from working 
as a secretary at Mount Vernon Township High School and also worked for several years in the 
Real Estate business.Services: Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 1, 
2006 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Minister TBAVisitation will be from 
12 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, 
Illinois. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, 
memorials may be given to the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary and will be 
accepted at the funeral home and the chapel or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
