Reba Opal Austin Dies at age 54; Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Reba Opal Austin, 54 of 1504 Main st. was dead on 
arrival at 10:06 am at Good Samaratain hospital. 

She was a cook for the L&N cafe. Death was apparantly 
due to a stroke.
          
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday at 
Myers funeral home. Burial will be in Mt Pleasant 
cemetary in Wayne county.
The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where 
friends may call after 5:00 pm today.
            
Mrs Austin was born January 17, 1915 in Wayne county, 
the daughter of Thomas and Lissie Coil Burgess.
           
Survivors inlude, one son Owen Austin of Mt Vernon, 
three daughters, Reba Puckett of Bradley, and Cheryl Austin 
and Marla Austin at home., her mother Mrs Lizzie Rector; 
two sisters Mrs Leta Towns of Mt Vernon and Mrs Myrtle Henson 
of Xenia ;two brothers,Arvel Burgess of Mt Vernon and Harlin 
Burgess of Salem, and eight grandchildren.
