Laura Belle Bond Dies Early Today; Funeral Saturday. Mrs. Laura Belle Bond, a respected resident of this city for the past 22 years, died at 1:20 a.m. today at her home, 711 Opdyke avenue. Her age was 64 years, one month and 16 days. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wells Chapel church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Barney C. Byers and burial will follow in Wells Chapel cemetery, in Farrington township. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel until 10 a.m. Friday, then will be taken to the family home, where friends may call up until the funeral hour. Mrs. Bond was born December 25, 1878 in Jefferson county, the daughter of John and Matilda (Chowhorn) (NOTE: actually Cochran) Holloway. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist church. Surviving are four sons, Irvin of Tampico, Ill., Earl of Sandwich, Ill., Guy, who is in the U.S. armed forces, and Glen of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Belle Blankenship of Kell and Mrs. Ruth Shelton of Mt. Vernon; six brothers, George Holloway of Rochelle, Lee Holloway of Bluford, Charlie Holloway of Texico, Tom Holloway of Bloomington, John Holloway of Campbell, Mo., and Grant Holloway of Mt.
