Wiley B. Bond
Wiley B. Bond, 75, of Hickory Grove
Manor Nursing Home, died at 12:20
p.m. yesterday at Good Samaritan
Hospital. He was an employee of Mt.
Vernon Car Manufacturing Co. for
many years.
Funeral services will be held at
1:30 p.m. Saturday, at Myers Chapel,
with the Rev. Gus Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn
cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
chapel after 6 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Bond was born in Woodlawn on
Feb. 8, 1899, the son of F. M. and
Mary (Chamness) Bond.
He was married to Ruby E. Peeck
on Nov. 4, 1922. She preceded him in
death on April 28, 1972.
Mr. Bond was a veteran of World
War I and a member of the First Baptist
church in Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by a step-daughter,
Mrs. Cleo Modert, of Kankakee; a
sister, Mrs. Nell Willoughby, of
Mt. Vernon; a brother, Pete Bond, of
Woodlawn; three step-grandchildren
and four step great-grandchildren.
