GROVES, CHARLES O., 79, Woodlawn, Illinois, died 11:45 a.m., September 30, 2002, 
at his home, born September 7, 1923, Cornwall, Canada; he married Dorothy (Hansen) Groves 
on August 10, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri; father & mother, William Groves & Olga (Eng) Groves; 
stepmother, Eva (Crocker) Groves. Electrician. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on 
Friday, at Hughey Funeral Home, Reverend Ron Cremeens. Visitation 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., 
Thursday at the funeral home. Survived by wife, Dorothy Groves, Woodlawn, IL; daughters, 
Kathy White & husband, Gary, New Athens, IL, Christine Miller & husband, Eric, Highland, Il; 
brothers, William Groves & wife, Muriel, Phoenix, AZ, Tom Groves & wife, Shirley, Minneapolis, MN, 
Larry Groves & wife, Patti, St. Louis, MO; sisters, Naomi Wade, Ogallala, NE, Virginia Murray, 
Blue Springs, MO, Nina Briener, Grand Rapids, MI, Phyllis Hantak, St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, 
Lisa Jones, Eric Martin, Melissa Naiborski, Erin Miller, Kelly Miller; 9 great-grandchildren; 
several nieces and nephews survive. His parents, stepmother; daughter, Karen Boldwyn; son-in-law, 
Harold 'Butch' Boldwyn; sister, Elaine Sohum and 1 granddaughter, Noelle Renee Boldwyn, preceded 
him in death. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Moose Lodge #755. For those who wish, memorials may 
be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed 
to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864. Arrangements have been
