Rites Today
For Stanley McCowen

Stanley McCowen, 70, a retired Waltonville farmer, died at his home Sunday at 3:40 p.m. 
Mr. McCowen was a member of the board of the Jefferson County Fair Association. 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Fry Funeral Chapel in Waltonville, 
with the Rev. Argyl Hauser officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Sesser. 
Mr. McCowen was born in Jefferson county November 25, 1896, the son of Jarret and 
Mary Josephine (Reynolds) McCowen. He was married to Mabel Green May 2, 1930. 
She died in 1954. On February 23, 1960 he was married to Mary Harris, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Glenn of Sesser and David of Waltonville; four step sons; 
four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Harris of Tamaroa, Mrs. Doris Cockrum of Waltonville, Mrs. 
Faye Campbell of Benton and Mrs. Mary Haley of Waltonville, three step-daughters, 
eight grandchildren; one brother, Jarret McCowen, Jr., of Waltonville; and one sister, 
Mrs. Eva Lewis of Waltonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one 
daughter, and four brothers.
