John Wesley McGill

John Wesley McGill of Waukegan, Illinois went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 
25, 1997 in Benton, Illinois as a result of an automobile accident. 

He was born on November 18, 1940 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. 

He graduated from the University of Florida, and served for 24 years in the U.S. Navy as a 
Company Commander. 

He formerly worked at Lake Forest Hospital for 5 years and Baxter International for 5 years. 

John accepted Christ at an early age, and after locating to Illinois he united his 
membership with Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Soloman 
Smith in 1970. 

John was a faithful Deacon in training, Sunday School student, attended faithfully the 
mid-week Prayer meeting and bible study. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and faithful wife Shebyll (nee Neecie) Garrett, 
mother-in-law Mrs. Lula Garrett of North Chicago, Mrs. B Taylor of Chicago, Illinois, 4 
sons, John Jr., Rashaun, Jamin and Jerrad; 2 daughters, Carolyn and Tanika, 3 grandchildren, 
A'Lexyis, Da-marea and Jaela, 6 brothers, Charles and Larry Wright of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, 
Gregory Hall of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jimmie Baugus of Lexington, Kentucky, Gerald Wideman 
of Chicago, and Clifford Washington of Jackson, Michigan, 7 sisters, Jeanne Hawthorne of 
Phoenix, Arizona, Katherine Merritt, Geraldine Wideman, Joanne Wideman of Chicago, 
Jacqueline Wideman and Beverly Coleman of Lansing, Michigan, Patricia Webb of St. Louis, 
Missouri. 3 godchildren Vonda, Brandyce and Lashana Wells, 1 aunt Mrs. Geraldine Jackson, 1 
uncle Mr. Amos Jackson, 1 brother-in-law Mr. Tracy Garrett of Moline,Illinois, 1 
sister-in-law Mrs. Rhonda Phillips of San Diego, California, dear friends Andrea 
Vanherselee, Bobbie L. Sims, Anna Smith and Geneva Clay and many other relatives and dear 
friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Clara Juanita Wideman Washington, and Elmer Lee 
Morsette, 1 son JaDaun Siani, father-in-law William Shelby Garrett. 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 1997 at Mt. Sinai Baptist 
Church, 2401 Argonne Dr., North Chicago, IL with Rev. Gerald Wilcoxon, Pastor officiating. 

Interment will be at North Shore Garden of Memories in Norch Chicago. 

Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. 

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home, 2513 Dugdale Rd., 
Waukegan, IL.
