Henry Piercy
 
Henry Piercy died at 8:30 this morning at his home south of Boyd.  His age was 86 years,
four months and 27 days.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Boyd Christian Church, with the
Rev. Merle Melton officiating and burial will be in Boyd Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, then
will be taken to the family home south of Boyd.

Mr. Piercy was born May 8, 1962 in Casner Township, the son of Anderson and Anna
(Cameron) Piercy.  On July 3, 1887, he was married to Susas Fiser who survives.
He had been a member of the Boyd Christian Church for 21 years.
Surviving besides his wife are, four sons, Nath of Dix, Walter and Charley of Mt. Vernon,
and Willie of Shabna, Ill; eight daughters, Mrs. Ida Carpenter, Mrs. Lillie Marlow, Mrs Lenna
Carpenter, and Mrs. Ada Harvey of Dix, Mrs. Fay Champ,Mrs. Nellie German, Mrs. Margaret
Wegmann of Woodlawn, and Mrs. May Elliston of Bristol, Ill.; two brothers, Nathan and Harvon
of Mt. Vernon;and a sister, Levina Sheldon of Mr. Vernon.
A son Bryan, preceded him in death September 16, 1927.
