Gertie Shehorn

Mrs. Gertie Shehorn Died Last Thursday. {Dec. 6, 1956]
Mrs. Gertie Ann Shehorn, residing a few miles west of Ina, 
died last Thursday at her home at the age of 71. She was the widow of Alva Shehorn.


She was born October 8, 1885, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Christopher 
Columbus Roberson and Emaline [Foster] Roberson.
Surviving are three sons, Melvin of Ina, Orville of Mt. Vernon, and Edward of Decatur; 
one daughter, Miss Lula Shehorn at home; five grandchildren; one brother, Willie Roberson, 
and one sister, Mrs. Anna Rogers of Mt. Vernon.

She was a member of the Elk Prairie Christian Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Elk Prairie Christian Church, conducted 
by Rev. John Nelson. Burial was at Abner cemetery.
