Jerry Shehorn
Jerry Shehorn Dies Sunday of
Gun Wound
Jerry Glen Shehorn, 23, of Route
3, Mt. Vernon, died at 2 A.M.
Sunday at his home of a .22 caliber gunshot wound in the right temple,
apparently self-inflicted.
Coroner John Richardson said the
body was not found for several hours
after the shooting.
Mr. Shehorn was born on Feb. 25,
1944, in Nason, the son of Arvol
and Bernadine [Melton] Shehorn.
In 1965 he was married to Linda
Fields.
A Navy veteran, he was employed
as a maintenance man at Vernois, Inc.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday
at 1:30 P. M. at Myers chapel,
with Fr. James Burke officiating. burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral
chapel after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Shehorn is survived by his wife,
Linda; his parents Mrs, Bernadine
Davis, and Arvol Shehorn, both of Mt. Vernon; one son, Jimmy Glen,
at home; two daughters, Sherry and Peggy, both at home; a grandmother,
Mrs. Margaret Melton, of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Leo Shehorn, Mt. Vernon;
and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Rich, Joliet,IL.
The coroner said this morning that
he has not yet determined whether or not an inquest will be held.
