Askew, Hannah Bates, b. Apr. 23, 1799 South Carolina, d. aug. 17, 1846, Spouse: Josiah Thompson Askew(m. Mar. 22, 1821) Daughter of Williams Bates & Elizabeth Collins, She had 8 children with her husband.

Askew, Col. Josiah Thompson, b. Jun. 23, 1792 North Carolina, d. Mar. 13, 1845, Served in Military as Colonel under Andrew Jackson, (Commissioned Jun. 10, 1811), Early pioneer of Jersey County, created 600 acre Maple Sugar Plantation called Askew Hollow, Husband of Hannah Bates. He died fighting a fire on his land. The family burial location is now lost.
