Philip Townsend was called to Stockton Friday evening on account of the death of his mother Mrs. Mary Townsend.
Miss Ruby Potter, Miss Ella Potter of Mason City Iowa and Mr. & Mrs. George Clemons of Cedar Rapids Iowa were Sunday guests at the home of Mrs. Ella Bastian.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coppernoll and daughter Emogene and Mr. & Mrs. Willis Rindesbacher returned this week from a 10 day trip to Washington D.C. where they visited relatives and friends.
Last Saturday evening a group of neighbors gave a surprise farewell party for Mr. & Mrs. Philip Townsend who soon will leave for their new home near Rockford. The evening was spent in playing "500" high prize for women going to Mrs. Elmer Herman and high for men to Robert Dittmer. Dale Townsend won the low award. The group presented them with a lovely gift. At midnight a picnic lunch was served. Those present included Mrs. Frederick Huttenlocher, Reola and Marion Huttenlocher, Ray Brown, Mr. & Mrs. R. Tapely, Mrs. Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Evert Read, Duna Read, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Arnold, Gerald Arnold, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Dittmar, Kenneth & Kay Dittmar, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Herman, Mrs. Robert Shannon, Charles Dittmar, Maurice Dittman, and William Herman
