Afton M. Jenkins

Afton M. Jenkins, 80, of Goreville passed away at 6:39pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 11:00am, Friday, May 30, 2003 at the Blue Funeral Home, Goreville with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial was at the Busby Cemetery, Goreville. Box 411, Marion, Il. 62959.

Mrs. Jenkins was born July 15, 1922 in Johnson County, Illinois to John Burden and Kattie Marie (HANCOCK) Davis.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Janet Morrison of Anna;  Jerry and Crystal Morrison of Goreville: step-sons and wives, Bill and Darles Jenkins of Marion;  Gaylon and Ann Brown of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; Rob and Lenda Jenkins of Herrin; Gary and Karen Jenkins of Marion; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, William and Evelyn Davis of Goreville.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anges Davis; brother, Albert Davis; and grandson, Eric Morrison.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Goreville First Baptist Church. She worked in management at the Anna State Mental Health Hospital, retiring after several years. She was a member of the Goreville Senior Citizens, and modern woodman Association.

She will always be remembered for her love, thoughtfulness and kindness. She will be missed by many people.
